I use IPTV Smarters on my Android and I had to enable hardware decoding in the app (I think that's what it was called - could have been hardware acceleration though). It was disabled by default and super laggy until it was turned on. Might be the same for you.
X96 vs. Lg smart. Wired or wireless? I have my LG wired over 6e and my firestick wirelessly connected to 5g router. The wireless stick is much more "smooth" then the wired LG connection using same apps.
I've got the 2gb/16gb version of the same box, and it's crap, takes almost two minutes to load channels and epg on Smarters Pro. I got a Q+ box from AliExpress and it loads more than twice as fast using the same provider and app.
