IPTV Definitive List

by SirChadimus

I'm looking into IPTV for the first time and it seems pretty confusing.

There are so so many different services, boxes, fire sticks, etc.. How do you seperate the good ones from the bad, the scams from the legit.

Is there a go-to source of information for the best services, hardware, etc for IPTV. Everything I find on youtube looks like scams, and every video showcases a different "service provider"

It's the wild, wild west out there when you are dealing with a grey market service where anyone with a computer a little skill and a little money can get started. It's no big surprise and no there is no go-to source of information that will make it easy for you. You have to do some research because it's a wild land out there.

You can go thru and study the current situation and by the time you think you know it all it will change. What I suggest is get a box and choose a trial sub and learn from that.

I prefer a android box. I bought a Beelink GT King and so far I am happy with it. You can go to UT and research that one. I would suggest staying away from the cheaper android boxes as they will have drawbacks - because they are cheaper.

I recommend using a VPN. Im using Private Internet Access. They are good. I did look at IPvanish but they are pretty expensive.

Im sure your going to get a lot of opinions because opinions are like ***, Everyone has one. :)

There are hundreds of thousands of resellers, of thousands of different servers, of hundreds of different channel sources. Test a few until you're happy.

Decent hardware you might already have, a Smart TV with an IPTV app. Other than that you can buy a dedicated IPTV box (Formuler is quite popular around my part of the world, because they have arguably the best IPTV app) or any regular Android box.

If you are going to access interlaced content (Apparently anywhere in Europe excluding the UK, at least) get a dedicated IPTV box or, if going with a generic Android Box, get the Nvidia Shield or the Fire Stick 4K as these deinterlace correctly in all apps (other boxes only do it in some players like MX Player).

It is pretty confusing at first. That's why I recommend starting slowly with free stuff like I did. Get a cheap Kodi box (Kodi runs on android) then start loading it with addons. Kodi also runs on Windows and its free to install on Android or Windows.

There's legal addons you can get from the Kodi repository that comes with Kodi and there's unauthorized addons that have their own repos. Unauthorized ones aren't legal but if you live in the US you can use them without your ISP coming after you. And if you're still worried about that, use a VPN to hide your activity.

Most addons have step by step install instruction but once you do it a few times you'll see it's easier than it looks at first.

r/IPTV is a good place to learn stuff, here's a couple more:
