New Formuler Z8 very slow

I just got a Formuler Z8 this week-end. This is my first foray into IPTV so I don't have a comparison basis to rely on. When I first configured my iptv m3u list it seemed cool. However most of the channels I watch either don,t load or are on a 30 second loop or are very choppy i.e. they stop often.

So I installed chrome to be able to do a speedof.me test. i have a 120 Mbps connection. When using my desktop I get 90+ on the test. When using the Formuler Z8 I barely crack 45 Mbps. It's even worse when I use the wired connection using DHCP. Around 25.

Even then I should be able to stream channels. When I bring up the Info on a stream I can see the download speed. It fluctuates wildly between 8000 bps and every 2-5 seconds goes to 0. This happens even on streams I have no issue with but seems to be the cause of my problems.

I will increase the buffer in the IPTVOnline 2.0 app tonight and see if there is any user improvement.

My worry is that I haven't even setup the VPN on my router yet. I fear it will be unwatchable and will have wasted all this time and effort.

Can my provider be having issues with upload speeds or is this solely on my end?

I haven't talked about it yet but the EPG menu is maybe 50% accurate. I'm being generous at 50%. Thankfully I only purchased a 1 month sub. Going to have to shop around to find something better.

I use hive on mine, you can go into the web player and add up to 5 mac's

Regardless of provider, I run a speed test from my regular PC and I get 90+ Mbps. When I run it from the Formuler Z8 it barely manages 40 and sometimes around 30 Mbps. This is straight google chrome on both devices using speedof.me to test the connection speed. They are both connected straight into the router via hardline.

Is this device's ethernet implementation so shitty it can't even handle Megabit speeds?
