MiBox, bought it from WalMart for 69 dollars, been running strong for 3 years now.
Tried a few android tv boxes (can’t remember names) and never went to the expense of the Shield (but frankly for IPTV only the Shield is overkill IMO). I tried the Fire Stick 4K and was blown away with the ease of use and the quality. I’ve now got 3 of them in the house and until things change in the market/technology I’m totally satisfied. The FS4K is about 1/2 the price of the Chinese IPTV boxes I was using and a vastly better user experience.
2nd Gen Firestick with Tivimate. Works perfectly.

Apple TV 4K and Fire TV Cube
After quite a bit of research I settled on the Beelink GT King android box. I did look at the firestick 4k and the NVIDIA shield. Reason I didnt get the FS4K and the NS is I wanted root access and Android.
The GUI on the BGTK is very easy to work with and I can install about anything on it. Its fast to boot up and run.
The important things to look for are the amount of memory and ROM on the box, The USB3 ports with the ability to add storage, The remote, And also the fact that you have a wired Gigabyte speed network port. A lot of the lower end models seem to have only a 100m network port on them.
The remote is really nice. It has the "Air" type mouse. This means you use the whole remote like a wii station. You simply move the remote around to control the mouse. There is also a button on the mouse for turning this feature on/off.
I also purchased an extension cable for the USB port that the receiver/transmitter plugs into for your mouse/keyboard. I did this because I wanted to mount the rec./trans of the mouse facing outward and under the coffee table top. Otherwise most boxes have a usb port on the back and can cause some jerky motions with the controller or keyboards.
I also have a small keyboard with a built in touch pad. This is handy when I have to enter m3u links or do other things. Quicker and easier to have a keyboard instead of clicking around the onscreen keyboard menu.
Im really happy so far with the Beelink GT King and its a minimal installation on it. I have my VPN, Smarters pro.

Shield and mibox. Both running tivimate and Kodi.
4k fire sticks will get the job done. I sell em pretty often w/ no complaints. My personal devices are Fire TV gen2, Shield, and fire stick. no real problems between them.

I use a Apple TV 4th gen, the apps for IPTV are very reliable.

fire 4k stick when they go on sale for $25
nothing else comes close.
get a $10 bluetooth airmouse/keyboard.
it makes setup, searches updates go easier.
don't bother with kodi - you won't need it.
AppleTV 4K with iPlayTV. Have three of them throughout the house. Works like a sharm with Plex aswell.

I have a couple of 4k firesticks which have been great but the shields have definitely peeked my interest.
Shield, android box, fire cube, and 4k stick all with tivimate on them, all run great with shield at the top

Currently using a Shield with iMPlayer and a Formuler Z8
Mibox running Tivimate and Kodi (PVR IPTV Simple Client and IPTV Merge). Mainly Kodi though
If it is mainly for IPTV and VOD apks, Formuler Z8 is my choice. Picture quality for me is ten times better than a 4K FireStick IMHO.
