Nvidia Shield or Dreamlink T3

by Pympala

I know someone looking to upgrade from an old Dreamlink T1 and I am of the view that a 2019 Shield would be far more future proof. The problem is that they use MAC only providers and need the ability to use a PVR function.

Can this be accomplished, easily and reliably, with a Shield? The Dreamlink is very user-friendly in this regard: just throw on a flash drive and go. Thanks.

I had the Z8 which is the same as the T3. Performance was terrible other than MOL2. I ended up selling the Z8 and use TIVImate and IMplayer on the Shield.

There are apps that support Mac codes, like STBEmu and OTT Navigator.

Hassle the provider, I would be very surprised if they were in reality "MAC only". Most have the username/password setup as well and in actuality you can connect to the account via both methods. In fact most providers you can connect via Mac code, m3u link and XC details.

Get implayer. It is a fork of the iptv app used on the the dreamlink and formuler boxes and it works on the shield which is 100x better.

I would get a new provider. Would never want a MAC only provider.
