make sure you do not have it plugged into a usb connection as a power source. many devices will fail to update due to inadequate power source. plug it into a wall socket and see if the update completes
Shut off updates ?? Its in settings. Keep an eye on the versions every time it updates. Is it always the same? you may not of updated the box in a while and its just playing catchup.
Disconnect it from the internet so it can’t see the ‘update’.
