GroupIPTV: Not So "Life Time"

by Gekidami

Hello all,

So back in december 2018 I was looking around for an IPTV service and came across GroupIPTV, these guys:

http://groupiptv.com/index.html

They were offering a LIFE TIME option (still are, "HURRY! ONLY 7 ACCOUNTS LEFT!") for a single price which wasn't too high. So I said "ah what the hell" and bought in. Anyway, after some time the service turned out to be pretty poor (stream quality was poop, if I recall correctly) so I pretty much abandoned the service and went with another one that's served me (mostly) well since.

Out of sheer curiosity, today I decided to check back on my life long bond with GroupIPTV and it turns out that after a year, my username & password, that they gave me and can't actually be changed (these geniuses don't even have the ability to log in on their site) no longer worked. Username & password invalid in Smarters, "connection refused" when I try to download the M3U, M3U8, whatever files...

I thought we were forever and always, GroupIPTV. What happened?

Oh well. This is a cautionary tale, I guess; GroupIPTV are crappy, and maybe avoid lifetime plans seeing as you're pretty much dealing with dodgy, illegal shadow internet groups with no real accountability and who could be shut down or the guys running it could just decide to cut and run off with the money? I dunno.

Actually I just noticed that they have a Contact US on their site. I guess for hilarity's sake I could message them and see what their excuse is.

If you can get a “lifetime” one for a decent price, and even if you get a year out of it, then I’m happy with that. But these are the risks. It’s not lifetime as in your lifetime, it’s the lifetime of the service remember. Could last a month, could last 3 years, it’s all down to luck I guess. Don’t mind getting lifetimes myself cos I like a good gamble.😂

as everyone will probably say, never pay for lifetime, but ya message them, and ask, I was curious about this a while ago too. let us know how it turns out.

When you click on purchasing now, it goes to a paypal error page. If you paid in paypal, give them the info, you can search and find it. Never use paypal to pay for this shit by the way, always use crypto or prepaid debit cards.

If they give you shit, come back and out them here, i'd do a fraud charge back if they do, usually you have up to 6-12 months.

2 more pieces of advice. Certainly don’t pay 99 euros for a lifetime account, far too much, and secondly, don’t use anyone (from my experience) who operates from a website that looks all professional like that. Always spells bad news that if you ask me. There’s a few of them about and all look very similar.

And lifetime doesn't mean your lifetime but the lifetime of the server until it gets shutdown or plug pulled

Sort of forgot about this but yeah, needless to say they never got back to me.

Ok, so sudden plot twist: Today out of nowhere I get an email from "Oliver Taylor" telling me:

"Hi,

The old iptv port ( port adress had iptvserver in the URL *) it's no more working*

Please replace it with the new one (new url has dp.iptvport in the URL) to get connecting to our servers again.

The new m3u will be like that:

http://dp.iptvport.com ***[...]***

Thank you,"

Followed by a massive blank space after "Thank you,"

So yeah, old username & password from GroupIPTV work. Wonder if it's a belated response to me contact attempt or just sheer coincidence. That certainly came out of nowhere.
