I feel pretty beat up here.

So, I bought a Beelink GT King. I find out it has issues with the TV guide / groups in tivimate and others. I researched the life out of it and came to the conclusion that its not going to work and there is no fix for it. Fine, So I purchased a Formuler Z8 and after getting it and hooking it up I discover pretty quick that the remote does not work. Ok.... Return for replacement. I got the replacement today. Its not as friendly as the GT King - software wise. I really like the air mouse on the GT King. Makes the Formuler look pretty dated. But, I didnt want to give up.

I use PIA for my VPN. I installed it from the google store and also from their site and here is a pic of the login menu on first start. There is no way you can login!!!

I have all the updates. Now I cannot even get on my vpn because of this. I hate to say it but with the GT King I was up and running in a few minutes. This formuler Z8 is really not that impressive so far.

The login screen for PIA shows two very small boxes and login button. There is no way to login after trying to enter my credentials for about half an hour. The rendering is screwed up.

Install OpenVPN instead and use the *.ovpn profiles from the PIA page. Works perfect on mine!

I finally found time to go thru and fully setup my new android box. The formuler Z8 is a good box. I just got a bad one. Actually, Im not sure if the remote control extender was the problem or just the box. Anyways, Amazon did a swap and I got the replacement box next day. Kudo's to Amazon :)

I think Im going to post a review comparing the Formuler Z8 to the Beelink GT King. Should be a good one. Wondering if I can post it in this sub or should it be elsewhere?

This is a follow up:

I installed openvpn and downloaded the *.opvn file to connect. Worked great. I then loaded up tivimate because I paid the money for it. Works good. The one thing that took me a few to find was the onscreen mouse. Didnt see that on the remote until later :) . Made things easier.

Im thinking of writing a honest user review between the Beelink GT King and the Formuler Z8. I see a lot of posts about them but no one mentions any of the glitches in these boxes. Ill do it on a thread later today as I have work to get ready for.

get implayer man lol better than tivimate looks like my tv online from the formuler and can record app costs 13 bucks. Will make that gt king the best box beside the shield. Is there a pia client in the formuler market that version should work better if there is one.
