Recommendations for a IPTV box for non tech savvy users

by BigDZ4SheZ

What’s a good box that is low maintenance and easy to use with iptv. I want to set up service for my dad and want to make it as painless as possible

Z8 is by far the best

Z8 is best box if your dad is little tech savvy.

If he is completely Not tech savvy and he need service just like cable tv providers and I would go for Mag324. I know everyone will start saying Mag is dead and it is not good idea to buy Mag boxes because they start blocking some IPTV urls. But i would still recommend Mag box for completely non tech savvy person. It still works. You just need to make sure to disable Auto update in box. I have lots of family members still running Mag322 and 324 since long time and it still works fine for Non Tech savvy person.

Everyone please do not start killing me for recommending Mag box. It's just my 2 cents. Thank you.

You cant have painless and iptv in the same sentence. Just keep him subscribed if you love him, if you dont go ahead and go the cheap route

Formuler Z8, Buzz TV, or TVIP are good starting places for a easy to use box.

Amazon Firestick is also very good and easy.

If its just for iptv, a firestick with tivimate. Set it to load tivimate on startup.

My 75 year old mom uses this setup.

The 4K Firestick is the best choice in your case, IMHO. It already has Amazon Prime installed on it, comes with "Alexa" built in for easy voice commands your dad can use to start programs or use it as an Alexa ("what is the weather going to be like today, are the Yankees playing today, how is traffic right now on I-95, play Frank Sinatra on Youtube", etc.). It has Netflix, Youtube, and a lot of other preloaded apps already on it. You can side load Tivimate or iMplayer on it for IPTV or whatever app your IPTV provider might have of their own. Right now the price on Amazon is $34.99 instead of their usual $50. If you have some extra time you can wait until they have one of their Fire Stick sales again when that price drops to $25. They usually have several of those sales going on within a 3 month period.

MAG boxes mate, they are built for IPTV only

Take it from someone who has been thru this more times than I would like to admit. The trouble with older people is they really like their TV and expect it to be there no matter what. You are going to be responsible when the service is down for even a few mins and they will be calling you non-stop. Just give him a basic cable package or an OTA antenna and if you want you can setup an android box for movies.
