I'm looking to give my 4K FireTV to my friend, and give her access to as many UK channels as possible.
Just wondering if it's worth paying someone to do this or tackle it myself.

Its stupid easy. Settings->developer options-> tick "allow 3rd party apps". Seach=downloader and install it, from downloader type in link for whatever you are looking to side load and Bob's your uncle. A quick YouTube video will have u done in 5 minutes
Why not give it a shot and find out? You looking for encouragement or something?
Tonnes of YouTube how to videos that will walk you through step by step.
troypoint has a great how to but most of their iptv choices are below average except one so pm me if you need help deciding. But I can side load one most people can do it using their walk through. I am not a video guy because i am always pausing and restarting where a picture is better for me
Youtube..only 1000 walkthroughs.very simple
It's pretty easy yeah, Just learn your basics like what M3U is and EPG ( electronic programming guide ), find a decent provider. Just gotta do your research, reddit is a great place to start.
Forget kodi, use tivimate it's awesome
Kodi is basically pointless on a firestick..(before you jump on me kodi lovers it might be good on a game console or computer put it's pointless and a waste of time on a firestick) Stick with Smarters or Tivimate! Use Downloader to add apps...but don't overload your firestick with a shit load of apps either..it will make it run like shit and make your IPTV service buffer like crazy because there is not a lot of memory on a firestick! I recommend 2 and 2 ..2 IPTV'S 2 movies apk's!
Stupid spelling mistake in title, argh. I've installed Kodi, process wasn't too bad.
Just finished watching a video guide, to download cinema hd, cyberflix tv, nova tv, tv zion, bee tv, typhoon tv, unlockmytv, and live net tv.
All very straightforward.
Elsewhere I'm seeing Tivmate recommened, or OTT Navigator. What would these give me that the others can't? She's mainly looking for live and catchup UK TV, is that what Tivmate provides essentially? Would it be much better and easier to use than live net tv?
I like stbemu pro. simple and stable. I pair it with the harmony companion remote and it works well.
For IPTV use r/TiviMate need to buy UK IPTV subscription separately.
Smarters pro should be available on android market. Not sure about samsung. If your using a firestick I believe that smarters needs to be side loaded.
Do it yourself, it's not hard. Install "Easy Fire Tools" or "Apps2Fire" on another device (available on the Google play store) and you can side-load apps easily.
For the Kodi extensions, you'll need to do a little searching to find the right one(s) for you.
