IPTV service like PS Vue with dvr type feature

by Wesly99081290

I have PS Vue which is shutting down next month. I am looking for a similar service to this. With local chs and a dvr type feature. I just vue does not really have a dvr but bookmarks old shows to play back at a later date. And give you as many of them as you want. Can this be done with a IPTV service or do you have to watch shows live?

What you are asking for is quite a bit for services that get their content illegally and charge you less than $20/mth! lol

That said, it is possible to achieve something similar, but with some effort on your part. Some services offer "Catchup" features on many channels, where you can go back and watch past shows. Some IPTV boxes, like the Formuler Z8 or an Enigma2, will have PVR like features as long as you mount an external hdd to them so you can schedule recordings of your favourite shows.

So, to answer your question...it's possible to achieve, but don't expect any IPTV service to do it for you! You have to be willing to do some legwork, pay out for a good quality box that has the functionality you are looking for and find a service that will offer the channels and Catchup that you require with enough stability to make it worthwhile. Remembering that IPTV is NOT going to be as stable as your PSVue!

None of the iptv give you the experience what you get from Ps vue,! Maybe Youtube tv, and Fubo tv, or Vidgo, and hulu, sling tv, those are option we have.

YouTube Tv has been great for my household. Our main TV runs a NVidia Shield with YouTube Tv. I use it on my Linux Thinkpad in a browser. The kids watch it on the Xbox One in basement or on phones or tablets. One paid account can share with 5 users so my son goes back to his moms house and they use it in his Xbox there.

The DVR Is specific so we all have our own shows on our own google accounts.

Catch Up will do this, but each provider has a different set up regarding amount of recorded days.

YouTube TV interface sucks big time. Not a great solution (unless they buy the GUI interface from Sony when they stop at the end of the month). I too am losing PSVue and have found SwoopTV fits most of the needs I have, local channels, movie channels, sports, etc. but I’m still looking for something as cool as PSVue.
