Another option to customize/edit m3u lists that is free is xTeVe.

I see the question of editing m3u lists come up a lot in this sub and often the answer is xtreme-editor which is a fine choice (I subscribed myself). There are other options of course but one that is somewhat overlooked a bit primarily because it's primary purpose is to emulate the HDHomerun device to allow IPTV to be used with Plex.

xTeVe is primarily an emulator but it also has a very good m3u editor and it is free to use and as a bonus for all you Plex users, it allows IPTV to be used in Plex. The only downside is that you must have it running somewhere on your LAN. I have it running in a linux VM and it works great.

I use m3ufilter... works perfectly. It can run as a server, or just output to a file which is what I do. Doesn't have a GUI, so setting up the config takes a little time, but once done, it's awesome. My m3u file is super organized now and has multiple providers in it.

ERD IPTV M3U Editor is also pretty good

Xteve is a must for what I consider power IPTV users. There isn’t a local network requirement, I host mine on a DO droplet.

Im trying to learn...Why would I want to edit an M3U?

Could it remove groups that I dont want?

Thanks for taking the time to explain

I was attempting to use xteve to put my M3u into plex, but after I paid for plex pass, I couldn't see how to complete the process in the settings. There's an older YouTube video which shows how on an outdated plex UI, but it wasn't helpful with the newer UI. Would love to use plex to watch iptv. Is the option still available?

This is probably a dumb question for reasons I don't understand, but can someone just send me their playlist? I don't care how it's arranged, I would rather work from someone else's than try to build my own.

I use xteve with emby. Unfortunately I cant use hdhr and another m3u simultaneously with plex. Emby handles it better.

Another plus for Xteve is the option to add a buffer and therefore not use too many connections at once to your provider.
