IPTV casting with vpn?

Hi everyone, quick question, I use IPTV on my phone and on a Raspberry Pi. I also use a VPN on my phone and Pi, if i were to use the phone to cast to a device, such as my TV, would this stream go via the phone's VPN? I am unable to use VPN on the smart TV, as it is unstable.

When you cast, you are just sending the link from your phone to the cast device which would have to have its own VPN.

No.  Once you cast, your phone will no longer be involved.  The TV will take over the stream directly.  If you can't use the VPN on the TV your only other option is to put the VPN client on your router.
