I have a formuler Z8, what is the best way to enter the m3u url. Seems a painful way to do it with the provided remote. It is possible to use computer/android/ios as a keyboard ?

I bought air mouse as you said its annoying. You cal also download the file put it in the USB pen and use the folder option (make sure folder is named m3u). Last option is to use tinyurl to reduce the size of the file.
Airmouse with a keyboard on the back is the best way to go about inserting data on the Android box.
If you have an android phone download Android TV from the play store, make sure your phone is connected to the same WiFi as your Z8, open Android TV and it'll pick up your Z8 as a device, you can then copy and paste your m3u from your phone onto your Z8, takes all of 5 minutes to setup and a minute to add the m3u Once Android TV is installed.
You can also use Android TV as a remote if you wish to do so.
The official Android TV remote app is the easiest way imo.
U can also use tiny url to make it smaller
Have you tried Air Sync Remote app on your phone?
Logitech K400. They go on sale often enough if the ~$20 is too much. Perfect keyboard IMO. I know it's not exactly what you asked for, but still a good solution. I use mine on several different boxes and TV directly and Nvidia Shield TV. Easy plug and play.
Some providers don't help either with needlessly long domain names, like ibetthiswillpissoffourcustomersmorethananythingwhentheycometotypeallofthisin.com - why not just register short domain names like http://acfgz.com/ to at least give their customers a head start!. I also wish more app authors would add back up facilities to their apps too, so you can just set up one box with all of your individual providers and settings, then back up and import across the app settings to multiple boxes, instead of typing it all in again, and again for every box.
teamviewer is easy to copy past ,
also i recommend to use xtream mode instead of m3u playlist
