Issue with Firesticks

by duckmunch

Maybe not the right sub but I'll ask.

I currently have an IPTV service that has their own app.

On my phone, it never buffers.

On my Firestick in my daughters room(roughly 30 ft from router), buffers once every 15-20 min.

On my Firestick in the living room(literally inches from the router), buffers once every 2-3 minutes

I have 30 MBps download. I will play the same channel on all devices and what I wrote above will do. My phone is a LG G3 so it's not very powerful. Both Firesticks have been factort resetted so nothing but the IPTV app on them.

Any ideas/suggestions?

ISP could be throttling you or you may need to use a vpn possibly

Have you tapped them both lightly together while singing Hare Krishna balanced on the balls of your feet?

Buy the wired network adapter for the firestick and hardwire it to your network. They are $20 on Amazon

QuickWick

Try to hotspot to your phone on 4g internet. Connect firestick to hotspot and see how it runs.

install a speed checker on both FS and compare results.

Maybe move FS slightly further away from router

Wireless is unreliable. I switched all my devices to power line network adapters and Ethernet adapter for Firesticks. The difference is night and day. Formerly getting 3-4.5Mbps on expensive Wireless AC mesh network, vs now getting 250Mbps on a much cheaper power line+ethernet setup.

Could be the app. If the provider gives you the details then experiment with something like Tivimate
