Usually the synch can be changed on the player.. Try hitting the menu button while the stream is playing, hopefully a drop down menu pops up...under audio you can usually set the advance or delay. If the default player doesnt have the facility..dload VLC or MX they both can do this.
Canot guarantee the above info,as not a technical wizard...but works for me.
I dont have experience with the android app, but on the ios version under settings-->main player settings--> enable hardware decode
