Question to Shield TV owners using STBemu

by anakin1138

I'm very interested in getting a new Shield TV box.

I'm currently using a chinese MXQ Pro 4k box & subscribed to a MAC based IPTV service that uses primarily STBemu 9.0.3. I mostly use it to watch french canadian channels.

The problem is American and english Canadian channels, for some reason freezes a lot and makes these channels unwatchable for the most part.

So my question; do Shield TV owners using STBemu have that same problem? Are the American and english Canadian channels freezing as well?? Or is it just my chinese box?

Buffering or freezing has nothing to do with the box. It has to do with your IPTV service.

In Stb Emu - hold ok or press 3 lines depending on device - pop up menu - media player - try a different media player for the problematic channels I.e IJK or Exo as an example.

See if get any improvement.

buying a chinese box is like flushing your money down the toilet....for one they dont maintain them they just sell them and on with the next one so in my opinion it could be your box because it probably hasn't had a update since you bought it.....so when you buy your next box make sure it get updates because that makes a difference and you wont have to buy a box every year...

Apparently no provider has the Canadian stations buffer-free in HD. Upgrading your hardware highly unlikely to fix anything.

I was using stbemu for a while after I switched to a MAC address based provider. But I find lately that Kodi is the better way to watch. I have zero buffering issues and I can customize the channel list/epg.

Did you try changing the media player to VLC PLayer? Also set buffer size to max
