Why Subscribe to EPG Service?

by djtoucan

Serious question. Assuming you already subscribe to a provider with a mostly complete EPG is there any reason to subscribe to one of the several EPG editor services available? I have done some testing and have yet to find a scenario where the editor service provided data for channels which my provider did not. Surely the IPTV providers are familiar with EPG editors. I doubt the editors have access to channel content that even the providers themselves do not. Even if you make the case for using the editor to remove unwanted groups or channels you can do that inside most IPTV players anyway. For those of you who actually subscribe to an editor service, what does it give you the ability to do that you cannot do with your provider's EPG and a good player?

I was the same i had a sub with xtream editor. Stopped paying it. Tivi mate can let you remove the groups you don't want at the client end and my IPTV provider has a pretty good TV guide.

I have a few subscriptions, I like to keep a "master" playlist that is a mixture of the best most stable feeds from all of the providers I have, the m3u editor allows me to do this easily and then rearrange them in the order I choose.
The epg editors also have much more complete data for channels my providers do not cover.
If you are happy with what your provider gives you, there is no reason at all to look elsewhere. I'm just a control freak and like my provider to give me stable feeds, I'll take care of the rest myself.

Why pay for m3u editor when you can have it for free? https://m3u4u.com 😉
