Remote for STBEmu

by CyCL0B0T

Are there any physical remotes I can use with NVIDIA Shield that will allow me to map the four colour buttons with STBEmu? I purchased a universal remote that came with the colour buttons but when I try to map them within STBEmu, the keys are not being detected when I press them. Apparently they are programmed via IR. I tried to use an original Mag remote to program those keys but no luck.

If yours is newer tv then turn on CEC in tv settings. I think shield already has CEC turned on.

You can then use your tv remote to control both shield and tv including stbemu.

Assuming your tv remote has 4 color buttons.

Mygica remote should work, it works on android boxes, however you won’t be able to power the unit on/off with it. You’ll need your regular remote for that....

Have you tried tivimate in the settings it lets you program an action for each of the coloured buttons.

You could program Fast Forward and Rewind (LONG PRESS) for 2 buttons, I have for Green and Blue.

Works ok for Green (sort by Title / Add time) and Blue for Search.

Not bothered the other buttons, and rarley use these buttons but works fine, same principle for 4k stick remote also.

Having said that, thats via Shield Pro 2019 remote, on older shield models I actually used 4k stick remote with mapped buttons, or HDMI-CEC then the coloured buttons from samsung remote.

MAGic Remote on iOS is also a app remote for mags that can use in Stb Emu also.

Try to use F1-F4 for these colored buttons

I was wondering this myself until I figured out how to use Kodi instead of STBEmu. Highly recommended.
