So far I’ve tested IplayTV, IPTV Smarters, VLC and GSE. IMHO, GSE is by far the best.

Stable, great navigation concept, easy channel switching, tones of features.

There are no good free iptv players for Apple TV. Smarters is free, but it's far from good. If you want good you have to pay. iPlayTV is the best experience, GSE has the most features, but the UI is painful.
