Do IPTV providers have a single tuner for each subscriber?

by ritchan

I can’t imagine how this works behind the scenes - do they have rows and rows of USB dual tuner TV sticks hooked up to the same satellite? Or is there some software defined radio trickery?

Most iptv services use an employee to manually change the channel as they receive the command from your device. That’s why the channels load slow sometimes, as the employees are often overworked.

Lol some of these comments hahaha

Yeah there’s a tuner for each channel

So 3000 channels means 3000 tuners I m know of some tuners that can do up to 6 feeds so it can be less as well eg (3000 channels divided by 6 = 500 tuners )

But essentially it’s a server with multiple tuners and each one represents a channels and is always streaming that channel then you tune into each on by changing the channel

It’s not cheap 15-25 k depending on what your trying to do

Plus paying for service and channels

I would imagine that each channel has a ‘tuner’ (for want of a better word because a number are internet streams). This channel is then ‘broadcast’ in much the same way as other multicast systems work.

the legal legit pay tv boxes allow users to multi stream usually 6 channels .. watch multi screen and also being able to record other channels at the same time.

iptv sources pay for multiple subscriptions and use a satellite tuner card devices to be plugged in that allows 6 channels to be shown off the one pay tv account.

like this --> https://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2019/09/18/police-across-europe-raid-illegal-streaming-service-platforms/

They also use a device that removes watermarks from the live pay tv stream so the accounts can't be tracked or canceled as well.

The pirate iptv profits run into the hundred of millions of dollars and there are many gangs worldwide doing this. These gangs sell to whoever and also sell access to their streams for a price so it's resold and restreamed and resold onwards .. most iptv sellers are not the actually source of the streams and they are just middlemen who sell onto you

this is why with some iptv subscriptions they have the exact same source channel so if it goes down then it affects alot of people even those using different iptv resellers because they are all using the same source stream.

this is why it's good to have two iptv acccounts and if possible find ones that have two different sources.
