What's the best free editor anyone has used? Just want to tidy up my IPTV providers channel list as there are 8000 channels and I don't want 2/3rds of them.

Doesnt tivimate let u hide catergories and channels anyway
Bit late to the game but I put together an open source browser based editor this weekend for fun (for exactly this purpose - i.e. disable and re-sort, clean up images etc). Doesn't collect any data, everything is done in the browser using your own localstorage:

Enjoy and feel free to contribute any improvements.
Wow, you don't want 2/3 of your 8,000 channels. So you do want 2,666 of them !
I would recommend m3u4u, it's the best one out there and has lots of good features. And its FREE! Whatever you choose I would avoid at all cost the service fromiptv-epg dot com, its not good, they charge per channel($$$), and the admin there has some serious anger problems and yells at everyone if you don't understand something, he will mock you and tell you to learn to read. But m3u4u is the nicest community, 100%! m3u4u also has really useful show/hide feature that works like magic, filtering out unwanted channels or duplicates, they also have logo editor to quickly change logos and epg autofill editor. Did I mention that it's awesome? As long as you don't go to that other hillbilly then you're good ;)
xTeVe allows you to create filters, only passing through the groups / channels you select.
If you cannot self host, I can help, if you're interested.
why not manually favorite the channels you like
and simply operate out of your favorites folder?
Notepad. Just manually add the m3u extension when you save it. If you want the cheapest and easiest. This is it.
You can use VLC as well to edit and delete anything from the M3u list plus its VLC!!
Also they have a Discord channel: https://m3u4u.com/discord
this is just a text file, use emacs.
If you want to do it yourself and not give away your password to a 3rd party then use m3ufilter.
https://m3u4u.com/ its free!
