I need advice on how to do the following: My grandpa likes a lot to watch TV and if we add TV via cable and internet to his home is way too expensive for us, however we have internet.
Is there any way I can connect his TV to a IPTV source but he being able to use it using simply a remote control? It has to be as basic as posible because he is not tech friendly.

I've got it on my Samsung TV and just use the Samsung remote, very easy, you just choose the menu button, hit the ip app and the channels are grouped there, very easy to use
I only tried it with an android box with smarters iptv app on it, most android boxes comes with simple remotes.
I set IPTV up on a ZGemma box for my partners 70 year old parents who aren't very tech savvy and they get on fine with it. You can even skin it so it looks like Sky or Freeview
I use emby and a firestick for my folks. They have no trouble recording livetv, etc via emby. It sucks for VOD tho.
A smart TV is the easiest but far from the best. Better if they want to learn the other options mentioned.

Download perfect player
Go to the settings and set it to automatically boot at startup so Everytime he turns on his firestick it loads up automatically so he doesn't have to do much but select a channel
From there just set it up so he has an IPTV service on there and make sure you favorite his local news channels
A Firestick 4K works well, the Firestick remote controls TV power and volume so no additional remote needed.
