NordVPN limiting access to my IPTV Provider?

by caniac22

I'm a little concerned as of late with NordVPN because I was able to stream my service provider freely on Nord with 0 issues. Recently however streams are constantly buffering when connected. I've tried multiple servers with the same result as well as four different devices. If I disconnect from VPN I'm good to go and back at full speed. Also I can freely stream twitch, youtube, netflix, etc with no issues connected.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this something I'm doing? Is there any way to avoid it? or is it something I should contact Nord about?

Sounds more like an issue with your IPTV provider than Nord.

Only thing I can add is select a server that’s geographically different. If you’re trying different servers but they’re close it might be a routing issue.

I use NordVpn too, without this kind of issues. Did you try a bandwitch speed test with and without to confirm the problem ? If yes, then you Can contact NordVpn support.

Nord working fine for me.

Check with your iptv provider that they don't block vpns. Reinstall vpn or try on a different device.

I had nothing but problems with Nord and IPTV. Perhaps since they did those 3 year cheap deals, their user base might be too big these days. PIA works flawlessly for me.

I randomly run into this issue a lot myself over the last 6 or so months, and regardless which VPN service I use or test (Express, IPVanish, PIA, Nord, ect ect). I've also had people in my general area confirm experiencing the same thing at times.

As is always the case with VPN use, you are changing a pretty significant variable in your internet connection when using such and that isn't just going to be some bullet proof solution every time. For example the bad routing in your area factor comes in a close 2nd to unsuspecting bad wifi connections in regards to why a lot of people have buffering issues with IPTV they don't understand. Or maybe a lot of those outsourced servers your VPN is typically connecting you and million other people to are having issues.

Personally and in my own SE USA area, I've become pretty convinced after extensive testing that at some point last year Spectrum's system started specifically flagging and throttling VPN connections/servers at select times. Can't pin down any rhyme or reason as to when/why it happens, but when it does it all but forces me to turn the VPN off if I want the buffering to go away. Which in the grander scheme of things on their end actually makes a lot of sense to do.
