Dude, get a firetv 4k device. They are cheap but super fast android devices. I have used several devices and they all slow down after a while. I have been the happiest with this firetv device. Have been using it for over a year.
I have a mi box and i have multiple firesticks. I by far think the firesticks are better, if you use the apps2fire app from an android device side loading is super easy and fast. The firestick remote has more buttons allowing you to program more buttons with your emu. I find the mibox remote limited and sideloading is super annoying. The shield is a good option but if your just streaming the remote is limited meaning you will spend a ton on the machine and then most likely buying a remote after.

MAG324w2 is my favourite for IPTV. Granted it’s Linux not Android and slightly more than $100, but functionality wise, it’s been the fastest channel switching and zero buffering, least issues box I’ve used. I also have a shield, which TiViMate works well on, as well as some customer Smarters APKs, but still there are buffering issues sometimes, channel switching is not as fast. I just ordered 3 more MAGs to give to friends and family. They work great but you also need to find the right sub provider that works best with whichever box you choose. Good luck!

one word....shield......bruhhhh.
In this day n age, look for something with 6GB of Ram and a minimum of 32/64GB of Space as a good chunk is taken up by the OS/System and tends to leave you with 65% or less space usable.
The RAM tends to be one of the most important factors ontop of the CPU of course...
Anything less than 6GB of ram is mediocre, cheap and tends to run like ass.
