You can use Xtream-editor and attach each movie with its TMDB ID (it can auto match the movies if they're named appropriately) and use their X3M player on your shield. Their X3M player offers a great vod interface with movie posters and descriptions. They also have a mobile version for android phones/tablets
Assuming that you are using xtream codes based provider, you setup it in OTT Navigator app ( r/OttNavigator ) with descriptions and covers available (settings - provider - add - middleware - xtream codes). But, of course, the description will only be available if your provider has it
