Why "Brand" or Rebrand Apps, or worse, only allow the use of said "Re-Branded" apps

by nettie_netface

What is the point of providers "branding" their apps, or worse, not providing m3u or xtreme codes url, only password/username.

Its easier, for sure. Is that the reason?

Or does it "lock" new IPTV people into their service and their service only as that is what they are used to. If you give people the option of choosing their own app, they may learn about other services through learning / reading about iptv?

I think it is both. They are providing you 'their' app so no configuration. Easy for the newbie. Some may also feel like they want the newbies to also not learn what is available beyond THEIR service. But I have only been with one provider that requires you to use their app. That was long ago. Now every service I've tried offers m3u and/or url where I can use username and password.

It's easier to have urls embedded (minimizes the number of stupid people who can't type in a url) but it also means those same stupid people won't be posting m3u urls all over the place and putting the service at greater risk. People who know what they're doing can probably figure out the URL but those are the people that are smart enough to not post it everywhere.

First off A reseller who uses branded apps like me want you a customer protected. I do not want my site name out there. Many sellers treat iptv as it were a legal business. The worst mistake of them all. I do not want my servers seized and everyones info going to the authorities.

Unfortunately with new players like trivimate and m3u editors, this is a problem for sellers.

As a reseller I can speak through experience. People have trouble with putting in the proper info and I would say half my trials I get"I can't login" . Most of the time they cannot tell a el(l) from a one (1) or a capital eye (I) or they do not use a capital on a letter or forget a colon on the url because they fail to realize that the login info is character specific and it has to be exactly as they recieve it.

Another reason is that they are not sure which apk they can use or how to use it or they do not know the difference between an m3u or a extreme api code.Part of this can be the resellers fault by not communicating or assuming everyone is an experienced user. Places that just send codes after you pay on your site rarely offer help.

Yes Secure systems are important and more and more of the popular sites get taken down. As a Reseller, I do not want my service on the top 100 illegal iptv sellers list (yes there are a few of those)
