Kodi still taking ages after using xtream-editor

by HitEscForSex

Hello,

the IPTV-service I use gives me around 30000 channels. This is making restarting Kodi a not fun thing to do. I subscribed to xtream-editor to disable a lot of the channels. Now I have maybe around 1500 channels left, but Kodi is still taking forever to load.

I imported the M3U-link xtream-editor gave me. It has been loading for 10 minutes now.

What am I doing wrong?

What you are doing wrong is using KODI for IPTV.

PVR simple IPTV client is unstable and not recommended, probably hasn't been updated in years but i'm not sure about that.

On a shield, TiVimate is the best, by far.

Too many channels still and kodi is not the best for iptv

I had an issue with xtream editor that you can try.

When you use the EPG from xtream editor, you have to make sure it isnt set to "All". the "All" check box is all the way at the bottom. If it is set to all, it is then trying to pull the EPG in for everyone of your 30k stations. In my case, I cleared the "All" and just checked USA, UK, and Canada. After doing that, I really loaded fast...withing 3 seconds or so.

Not sure if it is your issue, but you could give it a try

Why on earth would you need 30k channels, or even 1.5k channels? You probably watch 10 channels at most.

Just trim the number down to a 100 and you are good to go
