What is the best IPTV/Android box that allows PVR?

by DresdanPI

I apologise if this has already been posted by others, but I need a box that allows IPTV recording, and maybe 2 tuners if possible.

Anyone have a clue?

Thanks.

Buy a cheap windows mini pc , and load NextPVR. Add your m3u, and voila. You'll be granted the ability to record multiple channels concurrently. The amount of concurrent recordings allowed, is dictated by the amount of connections your IPTV provider supplys. Works well.

I've only had a few boxes. My most recent and favorite one is the mecool km3. It runs Android TV os rather then regular Android most boxes have. But that one has 4gb of ran and 64gb of rom. I'm going to say this. Just my opinion. I think it's about 50/50 on the box you get/use vs which app you use. I recently just replaced my firestick 4k for the km3. Got the firestick 4k last Christmas during a 20$ deal and it was a big improvement over the box before it. Then I wanted to start recording a couple shows and even with me modifying a few apps. The only way I could get external storage to read ntfs/exfat was through paragon. An Android app but no other app will link to that app so started looking around because usually any recording at or around 2hours is usually going to be above the 4gb size limit for fat32. The app I use is Implayer. Very great app. It's pretty much the same app that exclusively comes on the formuler boxes the MYTV online 2. Only this guy has made the app for any Android device not just a formuler box. It allows recording to not only external storage but is literally the only available app currently out that can also record to a smb/nas storage (network attached storage). If you already have a decent box. Usually anything over 2gb of ran really will do.you can always increase storage through sd card or USB since Android can read and write ntfs. But if you have a box or firestick download the implayer app and give it a test run before making the purchase. I can guarantee you that you'll love it.

you're better off getting a cable sub, if you really need that to be honest.

I have clients that use a dream link T2 and works pretty good.

The best is amiko it's killer formuler

Formuler Z8 is best bet, has some nice features and can record (for longer content would need to add external storage). To me this is the closest to cable like feel.

Have a look at Cosmidvr

IPTV and recording is touch and go. I also use IMPlayer and a new feature that dev looks to be bringing in is the ability to download catchup so you can download the F1 after it’s aired to the box.

Nvidia shield is the best

So it's either Formuler Z8, Dream Link T2, Mecool KM3 or Amiko?

Also, just to add, [my brother] does have MAG but that doesn't allow us to record the IPTV, despite the reseller claiming otherwise.

My brother is a Formula 1 fan so wants to be able to record the shows and races that come with that specific channel, hence why the lookout for the boxes.
