How can I watch my free local news without cable or antenna?

by david2descent

I live near Washington DC and Baltimore MD. USA and I find fox channel and it’s showing live news for California ? I need Baltimore news channels like wbal.

Try locast.org. It’s “free”, but a $5 / month donation makes everyone happier.

If you’re close to Baltimore you should be able to get some local stations.

Find a 5 or 6 foot piece of coaxial cable, with at least one connector . On the other side of the cable, strip 10 inches off , till you completely expose the copper middle . Remove all the filler till it’s just a tiny copper wire. Then use connector to attach the antenna to tv. Scan for channels....may need to adjust placement slightly, but I’ve made a bunch and these work better than most store bought powered antennas.

Otherwise, with you iptv provider....check “regional stations” or something like “Local Fox” Definitely should have those stations up there depending on hosting service.

Just buy one of those flat and paper thin indoor antennas for your local stations. I have one and it pulls in more channels than my external, roof mounted antenna.

Dude I’m in Falls Church and one of those cheapo antennas pick up DC and Bmore local no problem. Beast has a couple locals that work well too.

A lot of local stations have their own apps. I use a couple of them on my Android Boxes. An air mouse helps navigate a lot because the apps are usually built for Phone touchscreens.

You will only get local news this way due licensing restrictions. But it comes in handy at times.

Go to goodwill. You can get an antenna for under $5.

Localcast is a good option too if it is available in your area.

If you can't afford that then just shove a metal coat hanger into the coax input on the back of your tv. It's gotta be one of those cheap ones from the dry cleaners. It will do as a makeshift antenna. Won't be the best picture, but it will get you something.

Try newson.us

They appear to have apps for iOS, Android, Amazon and Roku.

MrTooToo

You can try NewsOn .

I know Beast IPTV (Just google it and find a reseller) has locals for DC and Baltimore, but it doesn't have EPG guide data. For the guide I use XMLTV they are a great provider for your EPG needs, and they have the local channels too.

Beast is about $15 a month for up to 4 connections on up to 2 different IPs.

I’ve been using

IPTV services for the past couple of years and between that time, have tried over 20. First off, anyone that is expecting 100% reliability with zero buffering might as well stick with cable. The true test for me is how these services preform during peak times and big PPV events. I don’t care for VOD as I have my favorite addons and apks for all my movies/shows.

iptv premium iptv provider with more than 9000 channels a private server using +10gbps. offers premium iptv (internet protocol television) service delivered with m3u list using the internet protocol suite over the internet, instead of being given through traditional satellite signal or cable television formats, iptv shop offers the ability to stream channels and media directly from the source to your device. compatible with smart tv samsung & lg pc mac apple iphone ipad apple tv 4 & 5 amazon firestick iptv box, android phones and tablets android box nvidia shield box mag avov vu+ enigma 2 dreambox openbox dreamlink and stb emulator.

So the best one i found with the best quality/price ratio is

IPTVSave , feel free to ask them about a trial so you can check if it gonna work great for you.
