EPG file creation? source?

by Skodd

So my parents bought and use this IPTV Box or "HD Satellite Receiver" as it written on the box. It gives access several IPTV providers such as Star IPTV etc.

The one my parents uses have a fair amount of channels (+10000 + VODS and 24/7 tv shows channel). While fiddling with it for a bit, I tried to find the m3u playlist link so I can watch the channels on my computer/cellphone/nvidia shield but I couldn't find anything.

What I did next is set up a proxy client and sniff the http packets, I found the links where the IPTV box get it's channel from. Sadly, there no m3u file, everything is handled with json. One link for categories and the others for the channels (ts links) contained in a category.

Fortunately, I know a little bit of coding and generated my own m3u file with the categories (group-title) all set up correctly. All is now working well, except that there no EPG....

So I figured I might as well create my own EPG xml file. Is there any interesting guide/tutorial/reference on how to do that?

So far I've found http://www.iptv-epg.com/available-channels that can help me fill the tvg-name or tvg-id in my m3u file.

but is there a faster/automated way instead of filling the id manually? A program/script that can match the channel name and fill the value correctly?

What about EPG sources? Any free ones or any good paid ones?

If you got the m3u link try replacing with your provider http://iptvservice.tv:123/xmltv.php?username=username&password=password

Send me your link and I'll fix it for you for free. I have a paid sub with xeev, and no I don't need your link or channels, I'm a reseller.
