YouTube TV at 1080p on an Android Box

by capperrice

Kinda new to this, so pardon my ignorance! I bought an android box with hdmi, usb etc. Loved it! Connected it to my projector, remote was usb connected - so a lot of cool things.

However, my YouTube TV came at 480p. When searched - Google approves only a few devices to handle their encryption. Returned that android box.

Is there any android box where I can watch YTTV at 1080p?

Firestick is cheapest, shield is the best / most powerful

You can use non official apps, I recommend checking out Smart Youtube TV. I use a modded version for no ads and it works great on my old Dreamlink T1

Maybe a shield kinda expensive or if that's too expensive maybe a fire stick these are just guesses as I have never used yttv and those are popular devices. Q

Firestick or mi box are cheap, probably your best bets.

Shield TV?

I assume the Google approved list of boxes is the same as the Netflix one. If you google netflix approved android tv boxes, you should find the list. /yes, Shield was on it and so was Mi Box but there were others as well.

Something not too expensive that I have had good luck with is the xiaomi mi box s. It is fully google certified

I fell off the chair when I saw Nvidia Shield price! Damn man! Will end buying MI box hopefully after this Covid 19 disruption.

Stay safe y'all!

The Mi Box is runs the Google-approved version of Android TV. It's your best bet.
