How do you understand whether the channels a retailer is offering is offered legally or not? I'm talking about both western channels as well as South Asian (Malayalam in particular)

From what I read, it sounds like I need to get an amazon fire stick, an epg provider (e.g. tivimate) and a content provider (e.g. not sure yet). Is that right?
