MAG 425a vs Z8 vs Apple TV 4K

Not sure which to upgrade to in regards to using one these for my IPTV service. From what I’ve read, Z8 is great, but the specs for the price, people say it’s not no worth it. The interface app is what everyone seems to praise. Apple TV 4K, more expensive, but I’ve seen people say it’s better hardware/interface and works great for IPTV. Though it is Apple, and pretty closed in comparison to using an android option. I don’t know when it comes to Mag425a, as it seems pretty new. I believe it works differently from the other mag boxes. As it’s android and not Linux. And there is also the Nvidia shield, though can’t say how it stacks up, too many mixed opinions on all of this.

Would love to hear your opinions. Looking for something fast, reliable, 4K, hdr compatible (ideally both hdr formats), blablabla... Thanks Leanin

I have a shield, z8, apple tv and android tv (internal tv).

Shield is the fastest, apple TV is the most "user friendly" although the remote is horrible IMO (the touchpad is buggy for me). Z8 works wonderful for what it is, but it seems expensive for what you get (basically just paying for the mytv online 2 app). Z8 also has a nice remote but the volume controls don't control the tv volume which is a huge pet peeve for me.

I would rate them like this:

For Pure IPTV and nothing else

  1. Z8
  2. Apple TV
  3. Shield
  4. Mag

Multi App "smart box"

  1. Shield
  2. Apple TV
  3. Z8
  4. Mag?

I was told to stay away from Mag 425A. It is completely locked and if your provider does not support ministra then you can't use this box. You have to install STBEMU etc to make it work.

TiviMate on anything running Android and iPlayTV on Apple TV.

I can said that is easier to find a good IPTV on iOS but they cost money on Android there is too many options that you need to try before setting with one of them. I found TiviMate after trying at least 20 different apps.

AppleTV IMHO still better than most Android(I’m using Mi Box S) counterparts, primarily because they are usually supported for longer time; On Android, is rare that a company updates their system more than 2 or 3 times.

  1. Z8, 2. apple tv. and third Mag 425 just love th GUI from the Z8, Apple tv: best for Netlflix,Nhl and Mlb. But not for iptv.dont have this box, use Mag 410. solid but not great.
