Call to Action: Upvote the IPTV Feature Suggestion.

by salimrahmanii

It seems that the IPTV feature is the most wanted ...yet the thread in the official Plex forum is not the most upvoted. Please Upvote as we can bring this to the Plex team's attention.

Plex know they are threading a thin line already with people mostly using their program for pirated content or at least content that breaches terms of the purchase. But IPTV is red hot at the moment. They’re steering clear.

It would be great to get this in Plex however you can already do this via xteve.

I have this working flawlessly

Plex used to do something like that when they allowed private channels/plugins ... back then u could add ccloud, USTv and/or various IPTv options etc. If I remember correctly they stopped allowing that ability a year or two ago, supposedly to walk the line of showing they don't support pirating media. At least that's what I heard. Roku went the same route ...

While Plex looks nice and is easy to use, platforms like Kodi or TV Headend and its various clients are much more powerful, configurable and extensible. If you really want to advance this technology, you need to abandon proprietary platforms like Plex.
