You don't need a mouse to setup STBEMU Pro on Nvidia Shield TV. You can setup using shield remote. Just long press OK to go into settings.
I use TiviMate in my Shield (which I think is the best app imo!)
But you can plug a mouse and a keyboard into the Shield (it has USB ports) so especially for something like entering a long m3u URL it makes it so much more easier!
Depending on what service you plan on using, the dedicated stb/mag/mac services will not work with tivimate. Thats why Formuler z8 is a better option for those type of services. That being said there is a way to map the keys on your shield for the stbemu app. Google is your friend.
Use nvidia shield tv remote from the App Store or play store and use as mouse
