Mi Box S issues, but working fine on Windows

by CucumberIsNotAFruit

We use a Mi Box S with StbEmu and/or TiviMate, depending on who is using it.

Many channels have artifacts and stutter or reload and jump back in time a few seconds.

I got so fed up and tired of those issues that i set up an old Windows PC with Kodi and the Stalker Client Addon. There the streams work perfectly fine and even look a bit sharper.

So it's not an issue because of my provider.

I already tried resetting the Mi Box, but it didn't help.

Any clues? We prefer using the Mi Box because of the apps and the remote.

Personally I use the NVIDIA shield. But I own a Mi Box S for making AndroidTV videos.

Get a shield.

It could be your network connection. Not all WiFi NICs are created equal and if the PC is connected via Ethernet, there ya go.

What is your connection type to your local network (hard wired or Wifi)? Do you use a VPN? What is your ISP download speed (with and without VPN connection)?
The problem with trying to figure out what is the causing the issue is it could be due to more than just one thing. No surprise that your IPTV service works better on a Windows PC even if connected via Wifi: The Win PC has more horsepower. Try the HDMI cable suggestion first, if no change I suggest that you try hard wired network connection to the box if applicable.

In the settings of the apps, switch to hardware decoder (or vice versa)

Are you using a remote mapping apk? It caused audio and glitching on my Mi Box. If so turn it off and see if your issues continue.

TRY CHANGING THE HDMI CABLE

I have the same issue basically with my fire stick fuck amazon and their devices, they blocked something I. I can’t figure out why half the shit doesn’t work. I have an epg guide and it takes fucking forever, it’s just a shitty device now that they crippled it.

Just use a standard computer everywhere, it’s the best thing you can do, less headaches, fuck these boxes and sticks.

You can use an app and remote on anything as long as you have a Bluetooth receiver, I really perfect the Logitech K400 touchpad it’s amazing. Like 20 bucks at target
