Looking For Device Recommendations For IPTV

by Bombleswizzum

Hi, as per title, I'm looking for box/device recommendations for an IPTV sub. I'm not wanting to spend loads on a Shield or anything that price.

It's purely for IPTV.

I also want something that can use a wired connection as I don't like relying on WiFi.

What's good these days? Some sort of Mag box? Figured they might be better option than an android type device but have never tried one so not sure.

Based in Ireland btw.

Thanks

I just got a Formuler Z-8 and couldn’t be happier. It’s got the cable box feel, it’s quick and the mytvonline2 app is fantastic. No need to subscribe to tivimate

If you want a box with support (Google apps wise/official store), then the mi box could be your choice.. Not the most powerful box out there I admit ( it does have a hard wired WiFi connection though) I find using mine with Tivimate a decent enough experience.. There's a few good boxes out there to choose from..but even more that are just cheap and nasty with poor performance in return....choose wisely I say.

The mag322w1 is a good device and easy to use.

Ordered a Shield instead after all.

I'm such a flip-flopper.

for purely IPTV, the formuler Z8 would be the best.

Xaomi mi s box you can find them on sale all the time I picked one up for $25 last Christmas at walmart.com not a shield by no means but very powerful Android box compared to firestick 4K

Android box (HK1) with 4G RAM and 128GB memory running Android 9, bluetooth mouse and a nice theme that makes it suit the TV. Great for other apps like BBC, ITV, More4, YouTube Vanced (no adds). Had it set up in the living room for over a year, for £35 all in well worth it

I see people are recommending Firesticks, but if you want to go that way, you will also need an OTG cable with a network port as you want to use wired and not wifi.Something like THIS should work.

I am using an X96 Max+ android box (has a Gigabit Ethernet port)I have TiViMate Premium for my IPTV, and use Kodi for any 4k movies/catchup TVI also have a HDD in my PC shared and can record from TiViMate or download from Kodi to this drive.

I am also in Ireland ;)

*EDIT*

Oh, yeah... firestick 4k is not really suitable for Ireland - if you can get a nice support guy on the phone, he/she may do some shenanigans to pretend you are UK/NI based and get it to work (mostly) - the older firestick basic does not need the workarounds, but does not output 4k (D'uh)
