STBEmu IPTV on a Shield TV Pro?

by anakin1138

I set up STBEmu for an IPTV service on an android box (M9S Pro) for my mom so she can watch French Canadian channels. The problem is many channels freeze often and it's extremely annoying. I tried it on other IPTV services and get mostly the same results. I'm guessing the box is probably the problem.

So I was thinking about getting a Nvidia Shield TV Pro and was wondering; does anyone owning one have the freezing issue on channels? Does it freeze often?

I love my Shield Pro.... but your problem is either the device, or the source. If it's the device then there's a chance switching to a Shield could work (although I just googled the specs of that box, it looks pretty good, IMO) If the source you were trying is the same on both IPTV services, it's not surprising both had the same problem, and the Shield will not fix this. The other "source" variable, is your Internet. What is your down speed, are you being throttled by your provider or VPN, etc.

If you just want to throw money at it, by all means.. get a Shield and see if it fixes it... but there's a lot of variables here.

These are what I would check first before paying for a pricey Nvidia:

  1. Is it your internet connection. Any issues on other channels or is it just the Canadian ones?

  2. Try more IPTV services. Many resellers sell the same product and therefore the source could be the same.

  3. Try the service on another android device or web browser if the service supports it.

  4. Are you using a VPN? Are you using a good VPN or a cheap one, which might have overloaded servers? Are you not using a VPN? Your ISP might be throttling your speed if they spot IPTV activity and a VPN might fix that.

I love Nvidia Shield, but especially the Pro one would be an overkill in my opinion, so make sure you've checked the above before you go for it.

Instead of STBEmu try an IPTV player with Stalker support such as r/OttNavigator see how your channels performs.

I have a Shield TV - no problems whatsoever, but I'm using Tivimate.

Tivimate is the best solution hands down.

Stbemu pro works fine its very light so I think it's your internet or server provider

Sounds like an internet issue but I think if you were planning on running stbemu a Buzzbox or Formuler z8 box might of been a better choice, Instead of running an emulator why not run the real deal?

Always connect your device with wired net cable instead of wifi specially for iptv
