It is way way better than a Fire stick but not as good as a shield. The AI upscaling is such a game changer. The TiVo is a great in between system.
I would go with the Hexa-core Fire Cube Gen 2. Especially on sale for $89 dollars. Competes very favorably with the Shield and the A4KTV for a much lower cost.
Go the Nvidea shield TV. The pro version isn’t necessary because there’s USB’s for extra storage. you won’t regret it. It is pricy compared to others but you won’t look back plus you can play android games and retroarch with ps3/ps4 controllers ( plus numerous wireless controllers ) . One last thing it has AI upscaling if you have a UHD TV
There’s also the z8 but never used but has good reviews
