Has anyone set up a cool dvr set up using a raspberry pi and tivimate?

Commercial scrubbing would be awsome, if you found a way to do it

iptvboomer

Why not just download the shows at the usual places? They have already done the work of removing the commercials and most shows post within 12 hours of airing (many within hours).

Tivimate supports catchup If your iptv provider has catchup you just scroll back in the epg and you can watch most channels for a few days back.

you can use MCEbuddy on windows to scrub commercials from your device over SMB. i do that on a formuler Z8 and it work well. Tivimate should be the same process, you will likely just need a smb server app on your STB.

You can also definately use a raspberry pi and an app called comskip to achieve the same thing for free. I am still working on a fully automated solution for that.

I use a Rasp Pi and Tvheadend for my PVR. works so well.

DVR is beneficial for shows that don’t get recorded like PPV events, sporting events, local network shows like sports specials that come on after the news, certain shows that are not available on the free apps or torrents, etc. DVR is not always about recording movies and TV shows.
