I'm running a synology 718+ NAS and have been playing around with Jellyfin, xteve + Plex, and tv mosaic
So far, Jellyfin looks the easiest to use but I've had issues with the guide on it and haven't tested recording yet.
xteve + plex gives mixed results, when it works on my pc browser it doesn't work from my firestick. Then it works on the firestick and recording works but no sound and it doesn't record the whole show.
Anyone running a synology, shoot me a msg. I would like to get your opinion.
Second question, what is a "reliable" provider with mainly USA content and multiple streams. Number of channels are not important. I really only need the big 4 networks, anything else is extra.
I have had a synology for some time.
Of these three I have used tv mosiac I have also just started tvheadend. With TV Mosiac I was using it before a few new features were in place.
TV Mosiac was simple to set up. You pay for the service, and get support when there are issues. I was paying for several small services, and it was a bit of a hastle when I switch IPTV providers as I have had to switch between 5 providers over the last 6 years.
TV Headend is still unresolved, and is not for the faint of heart, as there is some difficulty in the setup.
I will be looking at the Jellyfin or xteve.
I personally prefer DS Video to Plex. Plex has given me some issues with other users authentication. where DS Video just seems to work lately.
I use Jarvis, and before that Vader. (Defunct now) Amazingly only 2 providers the last 3 years.
