Is anyone able to watch Australian channels from outside without paying for an IPTV service/VPN?

I've been trying for a while now to access Australian TV channels from the UK and have tried several different options.

Matt Huisman's Kodi plugin has great coverage of both ABC and Channel 10, but Seven and Nine are geo-restricted.

Browser-based VPNs are far too slow to load any decent-quality HLS streams (if any). Desktop VPNs are either dodgy, too slow, bandwidth-restricted or make you pay for Australian locations.

Does anyone have a way of obtaining these channels?

Look into Smart DNS proxy. It’s worth the cost and works perfectly with Australian channels.

I second the Smart DNS Proxy recommendation below. I've been using it for years. It's cheap and also has a two week free trial. https://www.smartdnsproxy.com/

It doesn't slow you down. You can use with Kodi or Chrome. For ad free catchup, try Aussie Addons but search the Whirlpool forums for some new updates. Also, Chrome extension Ublock Origin will strip the ads out of all catchup except SBS and that is almost ad free anyway.

Good luck.
