Is there a premium service better than m3u4u at automatically filling in missing EPG info?

by mkanet

m3u4u does a pretty decent job at adding program data based on an m3u list for free. However, I'm curious if there's a premium service just like m3u4u that has a larger database.. hence, more of a chance at it automatically filling in missing EPG data.... and, providing a dynamic xml EPG file for me.

XEEV is still around and recently improved the channel selection.

Is there a hand-holding service that takes absolute dummies like myself step-by-step from only having a m3u url all the way to getting the EPG for the hundreds or even thousands of channels that the IPTV service has? I have literally no idea how this works and failed with xtreme-editor and m3u4u. I managed to see all my channels and groups that my IPTV service provider has on those 2 websites/editors but have no idea what to do then? Well, I managed to manually add the EPG to some channels on xtreme as the the automatic assignment resulted in 0 channels tagged but when I copied the final EPG url into iMPlayer it wouldn’t load at all as all I got was an error message within iMPlayer.

Well, I guess I will just have to do with the very limited EPG that comes with the IPTV service. Unless, against all odds, there is an EPG service for dummies. Is there?

Its easier todo it yourself, webgrabplus does it pretty well for free with a little initial effort

Most people here seem to be against it, but I have used iptv-epg ... now epg.best for the past few years. The guy running it can be a bit of an ass ... if you need help and do not follow the rules and regulations laid out and file for help in triplicate etc he gets a bit arsey, but he has always added any channel I have requested and once you have it setup and running, it just does what it is supposed to do.

I would not recommend for newbies and those that need hand holding due to the attitude of owner, but if you are happy scratching your head and reading forums and guides etc to get it done for yourself, its spot on.

I only use around 250 channels, so its not a terrible price to pay for me, it will get expensive though if you want every channel from every country.
