Dazn vs NBC Sports Gold

Which is the better service if I want to stream premier league and champions league football via VPN in the UK?

My primary devices are going to be the Amazon Fire TV stick 4k and my fallback will be streaming via the web browser (chrome on my windows 10 laptop). If I don't have access to these two then my streaming device will be my iPhone.

My job involves me traveling and having to stay in hotels and the WiFi is usually quite slow and signal strength can vary from hotel to hotel. So I need a service which is fast, won't buffer frequently, drop frames or have audio glitches.

Additionally, when I'm at home on the weekends I have access to high speed internet so would appreciate a service which can offer me full 1080p streaming or better (4k?) at a high FPS with a high bitrate. I'm not sure which of the two services offer better quality streaming so your advice would be much appreciated.

Use the official Kodi Dazn addon. It gives no issues connecting from any country whatsoever. Trying to sideload the correct foreign Dazn apk into a Firestick it's definitely not worth the time. A Vpn that 100% works for Dazn Canada is Nordvpn btw

How did you guys get around the payment bit? I've tried using a revolut card with Canadian Dollars on and it won't accept it

Would also like to know how to get dazn legitimately while being here in the U.K.

It's a bit of a chore to get the DAZN app working on Firestick as it won't show the app in the Amazon store unless you have an account based in one of the regions that shows it legally. There are tutorials on how to do it but it didn't work for me. I tried getting the APK from elsewhere and sideloading it but it wouldn't load. Ended up repurposing an old Chromebox by installing Linux on it and just using the web browser, which worked very well for my needs. Tried Nord VPN and IP Vanish, neither of which worked (Nord loaded but was too slow to stream and IP Vanish didn't get around the georestrictions). Express VPN worked a treat but only on certain servers in Canada.

I haven't had any recent experience with NBC Sports Gold, however bear in mind not every PL match is shown on this service (any that are broadcast live on NBC are not shown).

I'd recommend giving DAZN a go but not if you're paying full price - there's too much that can go wrong with it to be paying that much and watching via VPN. Not sure where you'd obtain a questionably legal account these days since RedditBay is gone but it shouldn't be hard.

Optus sport in Australia is now free for the rest of the season and in HD.

Use DAZN on my smart TV/apple TV/4K stick and phone.

Absolutely fantastic and so much better than using IPTV - the apple TV app having multiscreen is fantastic.

I got in at the start and it was £60 a year which I split between 2 so cheaper than most decent providers and more reliable.

The best for Premier League and Champions League would be DAZN. I'd agree with anyone who says it isn't the easiest service to legitimately subscribe to if you happen to be outside of a country in which they operate. In this case, Canada, so to subscribe, I'd use iTunes gift card on a Canadian iTunes account and away you go. I believe it may be difficult to switch from monthly to annual later because of iTunes being a payment method. It's always a risk you take but a great service if you want to stay legit.

I have Hotstar from India, it doesn't have Champions League though but has all Premier League. You can forget using a VPN client and connection from iPhone with that app, though on Fire Stick and other platforms you should be fine.

In addition, I've used Optus in the past and I think only 25fps was an issue for me. Noticeable on live sports anyway but it was a solid service. Subscription via Australian iTunes.

Apps for the above all on Fire Stick also. I happen to be in the UK and no issues getting apps from other countries, including DAZN. I think I got it from US store as Canada doesn't have an Amazon App Store. I do however prefer the Kodi add-on, I'd use it regularly on Windows PC but had it on stick as alternative. DAZN also allows three streams concurrent.

Optus and Hotstar allow only one concurrent stream.

I also have BeIN Connect from MENA, allows two devices but one stream at a time and you can change devices monthly. Poor support with different platforms though. Payment works fine with MasterCard for this and it did with NBC Gold some years ago.

If you want VPN, ExpressVPN is good, as is SurfShark if you want BeIN.

If you want DNS instead, then look at DNSFlex. It works with Optus, Hotstar, DAZN and NBC. It has been so far so good.

NBC Sports Gold no longer have the rights for the premier league. It’s gone to Peacock as of next season. To pay for DAZN just buy a 12 month giftcard from Amazon. Just go to the Amazon site in a country that sells it like Germany and login using your existing account and pay with your normal payment method. The gift card is digital and sent within a few minutes. Login to dazn and sign up using the gift card and get the first month free too.
