How to stop goddamn xTeVe from changing m3u/xmltv addresses?!

by Super_Govedo

One day is:

Another day it's:

I am tired of changing address in TiViMate, Kodi, OTT Navigator every day, why won't it stick to address xTeVe web interface is showing? Web interface shows xxx.xxx.x.16:xxxxx but it constantly keep changing to x.18 like every 24 hours, then after 24 hours it goes back to x.16.

Another ridiculous thing is that it refreshes EPG in 00:00, I planned to buy Rpi in order to run xTeVe 24/7 on it but when it reloads EPG in 00:00 I don't have any EPG until morning when I close-open xTeVe manually. My all EPG sources gather new EPG in around 01:00-01:30. Can I make xTeVe reload EPG in like 02:00 every night instead 00:00?

Isn't this coming from your DHCP server? Either put in a reserved address (static lease) or configure your server with a static IP address outside the DHCP pool.

Fix your router. You need static ip. Xteve is not to blame, it's user error.

Not an xteve issue as others have said. Your router is changing the local ip of the device its running on. Either in the router settings or device settings you need to give it a static IP.

Also the EPG refresh timings are all in the settings menu, you can make it whatever time you like.

As others have said.. it isn't xTeve.

There are multiple ways of setting a static IP. Either through the router interface (there will usually be an entry on device to make lease static).

Or on the machine itself. If Windows, then Control Panel / Network and sharing centre / change adapter settings then right click on the correct adapter and choose properties.

In the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", select that and choose properties

Then selct Use the following IP address

I'd make sure you set the xx.xx.xx.ZZ to something outside the DHCP range set on your router to stop potential IP conflicts.

Subnet mask will usually be 255.255.255.0

Default gateway will be the ip of your router ( 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.254 as an example).

Set the DNS server to the same as the IP of your router.

If you want to double check settings, before you do the above, open a command prompt (if in windows) and type ipconfig /all

That will show subnet mask/default gateway/etc/etc just so you can make sure you are entering the correct details

I will echo what everyone else has said that your ip changing is not xteve issue. It's your router that is changing the ip address of the machine that xteve is installed on. Make it static and it won't change.

Anyway, as far as your other question about reloading EPG. If you look in xteve settings there is a "Schedule for updating (Playlist, XMLTV, Backup):" field which default to 0000 (midnight). Change this or add more times. You can have it update as often as you like.
