Formuler z8 is a bit more flexible. It gives you the option of doing either m3u services as well as mag/mac/stb services.
Why do most people recommend the Shield? I have one, also a Firetv, Roku3 and AppleTv.
IPTV seems (to me anyway) just as good on the AppleTV as it does on the Shield. Would it be down to the app choice?
Best box should be the box is designed to fit the platform you are streaming off
A box can be as powerful in hardware does not mean it will work with proper software.
Nvidia shield and Tivimate or I'm player or a older fouruler z8 would work well it all depends on if your service has VOD right now I would recommend she get formuler Z 8 plus another good option for a budget-friendly version of Android TV OS is xiaomi TV stick is coming out soon for 4999 and they have their 4K box which is already out for the same price
Provider is way more important versus any box. I have numerous shield pros, but for just iptv any old android box made in last 3-4 years will do just fine. Any buffering is almost always on provider end rather than hardware....as long as internet is fairly stable over 40-50 mbps. Unfortunately, last couple months have been rockiest time I’ve had in 3-4 years of iptv. I’ve seen lots come and go. Hopefully things get better otherwise back to shared accounts again.
Formuler Z8, Z Alpha, or the new Z+ Neo. All have different price points starting at about $80 and all run MYTVOnline2 , which is arguably the best client out there that will give you the most native Cable/Satellite TV type experience.. Once set up, which is insanely easy there is little to zero maintenance and as long as your providers account is active the boxes just keep ticking for years.
Firesticks are great for iptv
Any deamlink box works just fine easy to use and troubleshoot
I've never had any problems with my Apple TV 4k couldn't say whether it's "the best" though as I haven't used any others.
Zgemma boxes run great for IPTV, as do most enigma 2 boxes. There is a learning curve setting them up though. I'd recommend an Octagon sf8008, if you are going to get an enigma2 box, and the new buzztv xrs4500, if you like android.

I have had all of the above and the TiVo Stream4K is now my favourite. Cheap but none of that Amazon crap.
Dreamlink t2 is a really good iptv box, make sure is connected Ethernet to get the best out of it

I’d agree with the shield tv. It is expensive compared to some but it’s so much than just a tv box. If you are in any way interested in gaming there’s no other choice in my opinion. It does get discounted too if you keep an eye out.
If you got box already, nothing to lose trying iptv on it. Make sure you got latest image. Open ATV and wooshbuild installed will get you going if you bit unsure how to set it up manually. Recommend Jedi plugin to easily install lines. Nothing wrong with enigma 2.
Love my Apple TV. Tons of choices for apps. Iplaytv is amazing.
How does the channel navigation and program guide compare, for an android box vs an enigma2 box? I have only ever had e2 boxes.

xsarius q2 v2 does the trick for me and is easy to setup. It replaced my MAG 254 and it is 10 times faster .
In my opinion I would stay away from the shield tube it's essentially a xiaomi mi S box that is overpriced
Nvidia shield is typically the top ranked device on all review charts. If you can afford it, it’s an excellent choice.
Many people like Formuler Z8/dreamlink T3 (same device just rebranded differently) because of their proprietary app for iptv bt their specs are nothing to get excited about.
