I find it's so much faster without a vpn, is there a reason I should use a VPN if I don't notice any blocking or throttling, I can always use one if it starts getting blocked or throttled right?
Just a heads up nordVPN has stopped working with iptv smarters for both myself and a friend. I've had to switch VPN provider as I couldn't get it to work anymore

I have used NordVPN for a few months with no issues. I use a vpn all the time running on an Asus router.
I think some of the android boxes dont have enough processing power to run a vpn at full speed hence I went for the router option.
Go with a quality ISP like Idnet or AAISP. Both refuse to censor anything, both are committed to not throttling anything. With idnet or AAISP you'll never need to use a vpn with iptv (and they are likely to be faster as well).
i would say at this day and age, it is definitely good idea to always have your VPN on for anonymity as well as to avoid throttling. most decent providers should handle IPTV or streaming no problem.
