Recording

by prgotothestore2006

Hi there,

I am looking for help on a box with the best recording capabilities-- will be recording one channel for 7-8ish hours a day for my family members.

Is this something feasible that I can do with a box? Scheduling recordings to be specific!

Thank you in advance!!

Any reasonably powerful box that can be connected to an external drive. The quality of your provider and stability of your internet connection will be the bigger issue. In my experience recordings can fail due to a few moments of buffering on a channel so you'll need a stable connection and solid provider.

It's down to the software you use, not the box. Tivimate will do scheduled recordings and much more, you can install it on any android or android tv box, my recommendation is the shield pro but a firestick or mi box will be just fine.

I have networked HDD's and I use TiViMate on both Shield and FireSticks and record to the networked drive. This way the recorded program can be accessed from any device.

I would recommend Nvidia Shield, this way you have a few options for apps to use to schedule recordings. One of the apps is CosmiDVR, turns Nvidia to a DVR for recording, pause, rewind live tv, VOD and more.
