Mag 322 Ethernet speeds

Hi all.

Question 1....

I have just setup my Mag 322 today with my IPTV service. Doing a Speedtest it comes back with varied results between 15 and 20mbps.

Is this adequate? My internet connection is around 900mbps in both directions and the Mag 322 is connected directly to the modem.

Question 2....

The guy who helped me set it up said to use 720p which I have done but I am wondering if it can be setup to stream 1080p?

  1. Mag 322 only supports Ethernet 100 Mb/s.

  2. Yes you can change it in the video settings.

Sadly the MAG322 has only a 10/100M Ethernet adapter built in. No idea why Informir decided to go with such subpar hardware (lack of memory, lack of bluetooth, built in wifi for every model, etc.). I understand costs are a factor but they seem to really go bottom of the barrel considering the quality of the software side (which is technically quite good and was groundbreaking for a time).

seems slow.. but 15-20 MBit is adequate for most services.

I might give WiFi a go and see how that works.

I’m wondering if it’s server related.
